The Digital Literature Project aims to increase knowledge of digital literature in Finland and internationally during the year 2021. It also offers a platform for professionals in the fields of literature, arts, and programming to meet and find new ways to collaborate.

On this website we will present writings about digital literature from different perspectives and a podcast series that will dive to the questions of making and reading digital literature and the cultural and economical connections of the digital media. Here you will also find the newest updates on the project and its events!

On 16th to 18th April 2021 the Project organizes a Digital Literature Hackathon, an event for those interested in creating digital literature. The registration for the event is open from 1st March to 8th April 2021 and you will find the link to registration on this website. The languages of the Hackathon are Finnish and English.

Five new concepts introduced in the Hackathon will be chosen to be further developed and realized with the help of mentors and both economical and productional support by the Digital Literature Project. The completed works will be introduced in the Night of Digital Literature in Cinema Orion in Helsinki the 19th August, as a part of Poetry Moon festival organized by Nuoren Voiman Liitto.

The Digital Literature Project is a collaborative project organized by Nuoren Voiman Liitto, a Finnish literary Society, ELKE ry, Aalto Studios, The Master’s Programme in Writing at University of the Arts Helsinki and Nokturno – a website for digital and experimental literature. The project is supported by SKR and AVEK.
